How FigurAlert works

Where our prices come from

Every day we check offers from figure shops in Poland, in other EU countries and beyond (e.g. in the USA, the United Kingdom and Japan). We use official sources first: APIs, product feeds and affiliate programmes. Only when they are missing do we read public product pages, respecting robots.txt, pausing between requests and with a contact address in our crawler's user agent.

We merge offers from different shops into one figure page by EAN, the maker's code, the version (Regular, Deluxe, Exclusive, Bonus) and, for video game collector's editions, the platform. Uncertain cases are checked by hand.

Landed price, customs and VAT

We compare offers by landed price. For shops in Poland and the EU that is the price including shipping. Shops outside the EU usually quote prices without VAT and the parcel goes through customs, so we add customs duty on the shipment value,23% VAT and the carrier's clearance fee. These amounts are estimates (the duty rate depends on the tariff code), which is why the offer table marks them and shows a breakdown.

How we spot deals

We don't trust "prices before discount" quoted by shops. Every day we record the lowest landed price of a figure (incl. shipping, and outside the EU also customs and VAT) among the shops where you can buy it, and compare it with our own history.

• Price drop: the price incl. shipping is at least 15% below the 90-day median before the change (and at least PLN 5 cheaper).
• Below maker's price: the landed price is clearly below the maker's price (MSRP): the price in the maker's or licensor's official store, or one entered by our editors. This works from day one, without our own history.
• All-time low: cheaper than ever since we started tracking the figure.
• Back in stock: on sale again after at least 7 days out of stock.
• Pre-orders open: the shop has just opened pre-orders.
• Rare, available again: an Exclusive, Bonus, limited or sold-out-at-maker version is available again (or for the first time).

The median is the middle value: half of the days were more expensive and half cheaper. Unlike the average, it cannot be pushed up by one expensive shop or pulled down by a one-day sale. Separately we show Editor's picks: deals found by hand, including outside the shops we track.

Affiliate links and how we make money

Some "Go to shop" buttons are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking, the shop may pay us a commission.You don't pay more because of it, and the commission does not affect the order of offers: tables are always sorted by landed price. We also show shops we have no agreement with.

Links to shops carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, and we count clicks without storing your IP address and without linking them to your account.

Account, watchlist and alerts

Once logged in you can watch figures and set email alerts: when the price drops below an amount you choose, when a figure is back in stock or when pre-orders open. For statues sold out at the maker, a back-in-stock alert is sometimes the only chance to buy at a shop price. You can turn alerts off in your account settings.

Important notes

Prices and availability change quickly, and we check them once or a few times a day. Always confirm in the shop before you buy. Names and trademarks belong to their owners; FigurAlert is not affiliated with figure makers.
